Recently I photographed a Mahjong benefit and silent auction raising money for the wonderful Beautiful You by Profile. From their website: "Beautiful You by Profile is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to help women and girls undergoing cancer treatment look and feel beautiful, provide a community of support, share resource awareness and engage with their ongoing wellness. Beautiful You by Profile is here to meet the individual needs of our clients undergoing active cancer treatment. We offer complimentary wigs and headcovers along with salon & spa services."

Halfway through the event, Bonnie Grevengoed gave a wonderful presentation. My biggest takeaway from that presentation was when Bonnie talked about how studies have shown that helping cancer patients feel good while they’re undergoing treatment actually helps them have better results. That is why feeling supported and taken care of is such an important part of a cancer journey. I’m so thankful for organizations like Beautiful You by Profile and all the good they do for cancer patients in west Michigan. To see more photos and download them, visit the online gallery here.
